Small Powerboat And Rib Master

RYA Powerboat Level 2 Certification

​

The RYA Powerboat Level 2 course provides comprehensive, hands-on training to handle a powerboat safely and confidently. Recognized worldwide, this certification covers essential boat handling, safety procedures, and foundational navigation skills.

​

Note: The official commercial endorsements can only be issued to candidates 16 years and older.

​

Course Content & Syllabus

​

  • Preparation: Boat basics, personal safety gear, equipment checks, pre-start routines, and kill-cord use.

  • Boat Handling: Low-speed maneuvering in forward and reverse, stopping distances, and turning in confined spaces (turning in own length).

  • Practical Operations: Coming alongside, picking up a mooring buoy, and man overboard (MOB) recovery procedures.

  • Navigation & Rules: Basic passage planning, intro to charts and symbols, emergency procedures, towing, and International Regulations for Preventing Collisions at Sea (IRPCS / Colregs).

Powerboat Skipper – for Boat Owners

This course is conducted on the participants own boat.  On completion the participant is qualified to Skipper a Motor Yacht up to 24m (80ft) and cruise the coast insight of land.

​

Prerequisites: Competent Crew or equivalent
Course Duration: 5 days
Price:  55,000 Baht

SailBreeze powerboat 2

Powerboat Coastal – for Boat Owners

This course is conducted on the participants own boat.  On completion the participant is qualified to Skipper overnight passages up to 60nm from the Coast.

​

Prerequisites: Powerboat Skipper + sea-time
Course Duration: 5 days
Price: 75,000 Baht

SailBreeze powerboat 3

Powerboat Offshore – for Boat Owners

This course is conducted on the participants own boat.  On completion the participant is qualified to Skipper voyages, seek adventure up to 150nm offshore

Prerequisites: Powerboat Coastal + more sea-time
Course Duration: 10 days
Price: 220,000 Baht
