The Intermediate Crew Course

International Competent Crew Certification

This is a 5 day Intermediate Crew Sailing course.  It is a certification for those candidates who wish to become an active crew member on a sailing yacht.

On completion of this course candidates will be able to crew on a sailing vessel up to a maximum length of 78 feet /24 metres in coastal waters up to 20 miles offshore in daylight hours and in fair conditions with moderate wind and sea conditions.

This 5 day course is the minimum level of competence that someone needs either when acting as watch keeping crew on a yacht and as a skipper of a small yacht in protected waters where help is immediately available in calm conditions.  During the course candidates will learn new sailing skills and put them to use on an overnight stay on board the yacht at a nearby tropical Island.

Individuals must be physically fit and above 12 years old.
